December 30 ------ President Duterte will sign the proposed P5.024-trillion General Appropriations Act (GAA) for 2022 today, Thursday, Dec. 30. Cabinet Secretary and Acting Presidential Spokesperson Karlo Nograles made this announcement in virtual press conference Wednesday, Dec. 29. “Inaasahan natin na tomorrow, naka-schedule po ang pagpirma ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ng 2022 general appropriations law,” Nograles said. “As promised, the President will sign this very important measure na hindi pa sasapit ang Dec. 31,” added the Palace official.
The 2022 national budget was supposed to be signed Tuesday, Dec. 28, but it was postponed at the last minute. Nograles gave a simple reason for the sudden postponement during Tuesday’s presser. The P5.024-trillion national budget for 2022 is the biggest budget ever legislated in the country.
