September 14 ------ BARANGAY Ginebra and San Miguel will clash in PBA’s return to Dubai on October 26 at the Coca-Cola Arena. The league announced the teams that will be playing in the United Arab Emirates city for the 50th Season Philippine Cup, in its return since 2019 when the Gin Kings and Beermen also took part along with NLEX. Game time is at 6 p.m. Dubai time (10 p.m. Philippine time).

This time, the two San Miguel Corp. sister squads will face each other, as Ginebra and San Miguel only got to play against the Road Warriors in two separate matches on back-to-back days during the last Dubai visit also at the same venue. SMB defeated NLEX, 98-94, on October 4, 2019, then the Road Warriors bounced back with a victory over Ginebra, 113-111, on October 5, 2019 in a Governors’ Cup affair.

The Gin Kings also played in Dubai on November 8, 2015 at the Al Wasl Sports Club, beating Alaska, 93-92, in Tim Cone’s first win as head coach in that year's Philippine Cup. Filipino fans are expected to come in droves, as two top teams are on a collision course in the Middle East. Ginebra is the most popular team, while San Miguel will come in as defending champion.

More than a few of the league’s top players in June Mar Fajardo, Scottie Thompson, Cjay Perez, Japeth Aguilar, RJ Abarrientos, and reigning all-Filipino Finals MVP Jericho Cruz are also expected to play.
