September 19 ------ Dr. Willie Ong, popularly known as the "Doctor of the People," has bravely disclosed his ongoing battle with cancer. "I have a large abdominal cancer. It is serious. But I will fight this battle," said Ong on YouTube on Sept. 14. "Para sa lahat ng cancer patients sa Pilipinas, gagaling tayo ng sabay." "Itong bukol na ito, isa sa pinakamalaking nakita nila. Saan siya nagtatago? Bakit hindi ko nakapa?" He called the cancer sarcoma cancer. Despite his condition, Ong vowed to help Filipinos until his last breath. "Until my last breath, I will help our poor Filipinos. But first, I ask God for a miracle. Please heal this 16 cm inoperable Sarcoma. Give me some more time on earth to prove myself. Amen," Ong added.Â

The Mayo Clinic described sarcoma cancer as a type of cancer that can occur in various locations in your body. "Sarcoma is the general term for a broad group of cancers that begin in the bones and in the soft (also called connective) tissues (soft tissue sarcoma). "Soft tissue sarcoma forms in the tissues that connect, support , and surround other body structures. This includes muscle, fat, blood vessels, nerves, tendons , and the lining of your joints. "There are more than 70 types of sarcoma. Treatment for sarcoma varies depending on sarcoma type, location , and other factors. "Â

Ong, 60, encouraged vloggers and bloggers to use his cancer videos to bring awareness to the public. "I will allow everyone to use my cancer videos as they wish. This will bring more awareness. I wish to help all Filipinos with cancer and other serious illnesses. "I consider myself very very lucky because I have good medical care and loving relatives beside me. "But what STRESSES, ANGERS and HURTS me the most is that I know millions of Filipinos can NEVER avail of such treatment. I cry for this injustice. "If God will grant me a miraculous healing for my huge 16 cm sarcoma, I will spend the rest of my remaining days fighting and lobbying for our poor countrymen. "Finally, even if you bash and hurt me, I will still help you. My love for all Filipinos is unconditional. May God give me the chance to prove it to you once and for all ," Ong also wrote.Â

Former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said he was saddened about the condition of Dr. Ong. "I told Doc Willie, many love him and depend on his free guidance and health advice, our fellow Filipino people. She will only be strong and God will have mercy that she will overcome the trial she is facing. My fellow countrymen, let us pray for the good health and fast recovery o f Dr. Willie Ong," said Isko on social media. Â
