December 22 ------ With her doll-like beauty and fair complexion, Kai Montinola is noted for her potential to represent the Philippines in international beauty pageants, notably, Miss International, as some refer to her as the prototype.

In every pageant, there is a certain prototype that candidates aspire to follow, which can be seen in the visual appeal of its winners. For Miss International, the global tilt prefers beauties with fair complexion, innocent aura, and a Barbie-like appearance as seen in the likes of Kylie Verzosa, Catalina Duque, Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, and Sireethorn Leearamwat.

“Grabe naman! I guess, wow, kasi, I never thought that I could be a prototype,” she told Inquirer Entertainment when asked for her reaction to fitting the global tilt’s standard of beauty. “I’m glad that people think that way, kasi, for Miss International, you’re not only representing the Philippines but you’re representing what they stand for,” she continued.

Montinola shared that while she had experience in modelling and pageantry before entering the “Pinoy Big Brother” house in 2024, she wanted to be sure of winning the crown before competing. “Miss International is not just a title for me, like all pageants, whenever sinasabihan ako na sumali sa pageants, I want to put it to heart first before sumali. I need to stand for something to earn that title,” she said.

The former housemate then clarified that she nonetheless “will never” close her doors to pageantry. “I started with modeling and pageantry, and although I was very young, I really wanted to do whatever I’m doing right now, but if my path is called for the pageant world, why not, diba? I just think that I have to do my priorities right now,” she said. Montinola, who has been establishing herself as an actress and singer, is currently part of the action drama “Roja.”
