MANILA, Philippines, July 28 ------ The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded a slight increase in cases of dengue in the Philippines for the month of June. In a statement, the DOH noted that it logged 10,733 dengue cases from June 15 to 28. This is higher compared to the 8,233 recorded cases in the first two weeks of the said month.

The DOH said it is already preparing for an increase in dengue cases due to the continuous rains and flooding this past week. The health agency urged the public to follow its 4Ts, “Taob, Taktak, Tuyo, Takip,” campaign to prevent the dengue mosquitos from staying at their homes. “Maging alerto matapos maipon ang ulan sa paligid at mga lalagyan kung saan nangingitlog ang lamok na ito,” said the DOH.
