DOH logs 30.4% COVID-19 cases rise from last week

Metro Manila, June 14 ------ The country logged a daily average of 240 COVID-19 cases from June 6-12, reflecting a 30.4% rise from the previous week, the Department of Health’s latest bulletin showed.

The DOH weekly bulletin tallied 1,682 new COVID-19 cases during the period. Of the new cases reported, eight are in severe and critical condition. Meanwhile, five new deaths were also recorded, with two of them occurring between May 30 and June 12. For the healthcare utilization rate, 20.3% of non-intensive care unit beds — or 3,188 out of 15,706 beds — are occupied. Meanwhile, 16.6% or 345 ICU beds out of 2,078 are utilized. The DOH added that a total of 498 patients with severe or critical condition were admitted to the hospital.

The vaccination coverage rate for the target population reached 77.51%, and 77.42% for the target elderly population. Meanwhile, 14.52 million persons have been boosted against COVID-19.
