DOH: 7k people availed of free TB screening, other services

September 4 ------ More than 7,000 people across 17 regions have benefited from the free tuberculosis screening and other medical services from the Department of Health's Nationwide Simultaneous Active Case Finding initiative. 

In a statement on Saturday, the DOH said it offered the following services for free:

- TB screening – Chest X-Ray

- Tuberculin Skin Test (TST)

- TB confirmatory testing – sputum testing

- HIV testing and counseling

- Health Education

The DOH has focused on initiatives to enhance Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment (TPT) after 192,733 TB cases were recorded in the country from January to June 2025. In previous engagements, DOH Secretary Teodoro Herbosa said that the DOH aims to make the country tuberculosis-free.
