Director reveals Angel Locsin once paid for an injured stuntman’s hospital bill and save his life

July 25 ------ Television director Lester Pimentel Ong took to social media to relay a little known story about how Angel Locsin once saved a stuntman's life. Lester relayed that Angel paid the hospital bill of the said stuntman.

Lester wrote, "One late night ng konti na lang tao sa public hospital kung saan nakaconfine si injured stuntman, dumating siya kasama lang ang driver niya... kinumusta si stuntman, consoled his wife and mom, then asked the person in charge of the hospital how much was the accumulated bill at magkano pa ang kakailanganin para makalakad pa ulit si stuntman. Agad nyang binayaran ang bill, nagiwan ng pabaon at encouraging words sa pamilya, then she left." The director remarked that the actress indeed a hero behind the camera. "Siya si Angel Locsin, she is the real life Darna...hero siya kahit sa likod ng camera, kahit walang nakatingin at walang nakakaalam. I just need to share my story of her," he said. This is not the first-time that Angel was dubbed as a real-life Darna.

The Kapamilya actress spearheaded major initiatives recently to help the country combat COVID-19 pandemic. Last March, she launched the donation drive called #UnitentWeStandPH, which aimed to raise funds to provide tents for overcrowded hospitals. The objective of the project was to accommodate more patients who need immediate treatment while also prioritizing the safety of health workers. In June, she organized the Shop & Share project, which aims to provide mass testing to the marginalized sector of society. "We would like to revisit the idea of artists coming together and helping those who need it the most. This time, with the funds we raise, we would like to purchase test kits and allow testing opportunities for the poorer sectors in the hopes of helping out in the efforts to provide mass testing in the country," she said.
