MANILA, August 1 ------ Maki discovered his true color early in his career — without facades, only pure talent. Most importantly, he refused to let the blinding colors of fame mislead him, remaining humble and enjoying the colorful world of showbiz.
Literally, ‘color’ had a vital role in his career, with his popular songs named after hues -- yellow ("Dilaw"), red (“Namumula”), blue (“Bughaw”), and orange ("Kahel Na Langit"). The first song has now received 266 million streams, demonstrating its success. His fascination with colors continues with his debut full-length album, "Kolorcoaster," which he announced at the Araneta Coliseum during the Alagang Suki Fest 2025, organized by Mercury Drug and Unilab. “May lalabas po akong album. Tungkol sa kulay. It will consist of 10 songs. Lalabas po ‘yan sa Sept. 19, 2025. First-ever full length album ko po,” he told his screaming fans and Unilab supporters.
The attendees' screams were so loud that they nearly broke eardrums as they cheered on the breakout singer, who presently has 5.8 million monthly Spotify listeners, making him one of the most celebrated young OPM artists on the platform. In true Maki fashion, he celebrated his music on stage, backed by colorful and artsy visuals, beginning with his first number, a rendition of his single "Namumula." “Na-miss ko po ang Pilipinas. Para namang isang taon akong nawala sa Pinas,” he joked, adding, “Galing po kasi ako sa tours sa America at Canada,” he said. His ease in large settings like the Araneta was clear in the way he spoke to the crowd, moved smoothly around the stage, and displayed his seamless charisma while clothed in a red jersey and brown slacks.
Singing his second song, "Bughaw," the Tarsier Records artist mentioned that it has always been his dream to have his own Araneta concert. “Ang laki ng Araneta. Sana mag-[solo] concert din ako rito.” The young hitmaker then became vulnerable with his third number, "Kailan?.” His signature voice complemented the song's heartfelt and deeply personal lyrics. “Para sa mga taong bigo. Nagising na lang siya isang araw na hindi na siya mahal,” he said.
To show his love for his followers, he continued the show by performing one of his hit songs, "Kahel Na Langit." His eyes brightened up as he heard his supporters sing along.
It was followed by a more upbeat song called "Dilaw," which became his most popular hit and broke all records. As expected, as he sang the first note, everyone went crazy, jumping, screaming, and clapping.
For his finale, the young artist sang another popular and most requested song, "Saan," which has 179 million streams. He was still full of energy and delivered an unexpected concert that cemented his spot in the music industry. And his true color is defined not by the number of Spotify streams, but by the lyrics of his songs, which add color to the lives of those who listen. The Alagang Suki Fest 2025 was organized to celebrate Unilab and Mercury Drug's 80-year history in the healthcare industry. The event was jam-packed with music aficionados and supporters of the two brands.
