Diesel prices seen rising by almost P10 next week

MANILA, September 19 ------ Diesel prices are expected to go up by almost P10/liter next week, based on the first four trading days on the world market.

Fuel prices may go up by the following amounts:

- Diesel - P9.50/liter

- Gasoline - P4.50/liter

- Kerosene - P7.40/liter

Department of Energy Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) Director Rino Abad said Saudi Arabia's oil pipeline Petroline was shut down, and assessment of the damage alone may take 3 to 5 weeks. Abad said the DOE may now ask petroleum companies to stagger the price hikes.
