Cup of Joe 1st local act to stage solo show in Philippine Sports Stadium

CORON, Philippines, March 6 ------ After much anticipation, local band Cup of Joe is set to break yet another record in the Philippine music scene. The band confirmed on their social media accounts that it would be staging “Sandali: The Cup of Joe Fest” on May 23 in Bulacan’s Philippine Sports Stadium. Cup of Joe noted that it would be the first Original Pilipino Music (OPM) act to stage a solo concert at the venue located beside the Philippine Arena.

So far, only K-pop boy bands Seventeen, NCT 127, and Enhypen have performed at the venue. In fact, Seventeen is returning to the Philippine Sports Stadium this March 21 for their “New_ World Tour.” “Get ready for one unforgettable summer night of water splashes, lights, and thousands of voices under one sky,” Cup of Joe said. “This night is for everyone who believed, stayed, and loved.” “Sandali: The Cup of Joe Fest” will be directed by Paolo Valenciano, who previously helmed Cup of Joe’s two-day sold-out “Silakbo” shows last year at the Araneta Coliseum.

Cup of Joe’s “Multo” recently became the most-streamed Filipino song on the platform, overtaking Up Dharma Down’s 2012 hit “Tadhana,” which was the only other OPM track with over 500 million plays. "Tadhana" just crossed the 500 million mark last January, making it a more impressive feat by "Multo" as it did the same in record time after its release in September 2024.
