Choco Mucho holds off Akari in straight sets in PVL

March 25 ------ Choco Mucho swiftly overcame a determined Akari squad, securing a commanding 25-17, 25-22, 25-21 victory in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Following their setback against PLDT, the Flying Titans wasted no time regaining their momentum and clinching a win, led by team captain Maddie Madayag who contributed 11 points, including eight successful attacks and three crucial blocks. Madayag said she just focused on fulfilling whatever role coaches assigned her.

The match commenced with a series of prolonged rallies, but Choco Mucho quickly asserted dominance when Royse Tubino delivered back-to-back aces, tipping the scales in favor of the Flying Titans. Despite Akari's spirited comeback in the second set, led by Faith Nisperos and Dindin Santiago-Manabat, the Flying Titans managed to level the score at 22-all. An error by Santiago-Manabat sealed the set win for Choco Mucho. In the third set, Choco Mucho maintained its dominance, establishing an eight-point lead at 18-10. Despite Akari's efforts to narrow the gap, it couldn't match the prowess of the Flying Titans, who claimed victory in straight sets, propelled by Tubino.

Tubino contributed 11 points, while Sisi Rondina displayed her versatility with 13 points, 17 digs, and eight receptions. Nisperos was the sole player for the Chargers to reach double digits in scoring with 12 points, supported by Santiago-Manabat with nine points and Grethcel Soltones with seven.
