CAVITEX toll rates to increase starting October 28

MANILA, Philippines, October 27 ------ CAVITEX announced that the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) has approved toll rate adjustments for the Manila-Cavite Expressway, following petitions filed by joint venture partners CAVITEX Infrastructure Corp. (CIC) and the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) in 2020 and 2023. In a statement posted on Facebook, CAVITEX said that the new toll rates will take effect on October 28 after the TRB granted provisionally approved rates to support ongoing expressway upgrades and maintenance works.

New toll rates

For the CAVITEX R1 Portion (Seaside to Zapote), the new VAT-inclusive toll rates are:

• Class 1: from P35 to P39

• Class 2: from P70 to P78

• Class 3: from P104 to P117

For the CAVITEX R1 Extension Segment 4 (Zapote to Kawit), the adjustment will be implemented in two tranches—in 2025 and 2026—to moderate the impact on motorists:

• Class 1: from P73 to P88

• Class 2: from P146 to P176

• Class 3: from P219 to P264

Abante Program reactivation

To cushion the effect of the increase, CIC said it will reactivate its “Abante Program”, a toll reprieve initiative that allows registered public utility vehicles (PUVs) and agricultural trucks to continue paying old toll rates for 90 days from the start of implementation. Infrastructure upgrades

CAVITEX said the toll adjustments will help fund ongoing and completed infrastructure improvements aimed at ensuring safety, efficiency and convenience for motorists. Among these are:

• Expansion Joint Replacement at the Parañaque Segment Bridges and Imus Viaduct, enhancing ride comfort and structural reliability

• Upgraded RFID systems and installation of Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) technology for faster and more seamless transactions

• Ongoing pavement rehabilitation works in key portions of the Kawit and Parañaque segments

In a joint statement, CIC and PRA reaffirmed their commitment to providing "safe, reliable, and efficient expressways that support economic growth and regional connectivity."
