January 20 ------ Catriona Gray will be making her acting debut in the upcoming film “The Loved One,” which marks the reunion film of Jericho Rosales and Anne Curtis.

A glimpse of Gray’s character in the romantic drama was revealed in the film’s trailer on Monday, January 19, showing the former beauty queen as what seemed to be the second lead who can possibly influence the love story of Rosales and Curtis’ characters. One scene showed Gray sharing eye contact with the veteran actor, while another showed them enjoying a conversation over beer.

According to her label Cornerstone Entertainment, the former beauty queen added a “special flavor” to her character with the help of filmmaker Irene Villamor. “‘The Loved One’ officially marks Catriona Gray’s acting debut — a much-awaited and deserved new feather on her cap. Since taking on the title of Miss Universe 2018 about eight years ago, Catriona has continuously proven that she is indeed a multi-hyphenate queen,” Cornerstone Studios said in a statement.

The entertainment agency also shared teaser photos of Gray while in the scene, showing her in what seemed to be an office. Gray, who was crowned Miss Universe in 2018, has been busy with her career as a creative, singer, and an ambassador for several luxury brands since her reign.

“The Loved One” is Rosales and Curtis’s first film together after 15 years. They first worked together in the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Baler” and the Kapamilya drama “Green Rose” in 2011.
