February 12 ------ Celebrities Catriona Gray and Piolo Pascual were just two of the many Filipinos who were honored at The Global Filipino Icon Awards earlier this year. The ceremony for the award-giving body happened at the Kempinski Central Avenue Hotel in Dubai, where they were present to receive their accolades.
Catriona was given the Global Icon for Beauty, Advocacy, and Culture Award while Piolo received the Lifetime Achievement in Filipino Arts and Global Representation Award during the fifth edition of the prestigious award-giving body.
In her posts, the former Miss Universe titleholder expressed her gratitude for being given the award. She was wearing a beautiful black gown made by Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco. “Honored to be recognized as a recipient of the Global Filipino Icon Awards 2026 for Beauty, Advocacy, and Culture last night in Dubai, UAE. Maraming Salamat po,” she wrote.
Apart from the two, several other Filipino celebrities and those who made an impact around the globe were awarded as well. Some of the awardees include journalist Atom Araullo, who bagged the Lifetime Achievement in Public Service Journalism Award, and Zeinab Harake for Empowered Woman of the New Media Generation, among others.
Other notable awardees include Ricky Reyes, Rene Salud, Glenda Dela Cruz, and Pia Marie. “All glory to God. Truly honored to receive the Empowered Woman of the New Media Generation at the Global Filipino Icon Awards 2026 as a Special Awardee. Grateful beyond words,” Zeinab expressed. Fans sent their congratulatory messages in the comment section of their posts. Other netizens expressed how inspired they are and proud to be a Filipino because of the impact these celebrities have made outside the country.
Apart from being just an award-giving body, its organizer, The Filipino Global Magazine, has been celebrating Filipino achievements through sharing inspiring stories, cultural highlights, and essential news for the community.
