Cambodian musician G-Devith eyes deeper ties with Filipino artists

MANILA, Philippines, July 25 ------ Cambodian music star G-Devith has returned to the Philippines following his debut before Filipino audiences at the 2026 ASEAN-Korea ROUND Music Festival.

Many Filipinos first discovered G-Devith during the music festival last April, where he represented Cambodia alongside artists from Southeast Asia and South Korea. His energetic performance introduced audiences to Cambodia's thriving contemporary music scene. Now back in Manila, the Cambodian artist hopes to build on that momentum by exploring collaborations with Filipino musicians and creatives while promoting greater cultural exchange through music.

Speaking during an intimate media conference at LaVie Resort and Casino, G-Devith expressed his admiration for the Philippines' vibrant music culture and said he is eager to work with Filipino artists on future projects. Through an interpreter, he emphasized the importance of creating meaningful collaborations that showcase the diversity and creativity of Southeast Asian music.

His visit coincides with the inaugural leg of the Southeast Asian Pop Music and Culture Caravan 2026, an initiative organized by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in partnership with BSE. The program aims to bring together artists and cultural communities from across the region to celebrate contemporary music, creativity, and cross-cultural collaboration.

Joining G-Devith in the caravan are Filipino global pop group HORI7ON, P-pop act 1st.One, and world music band TALAHIB. For G-Devith, participating in the regional project marks another step toward deepening his relationship with Filipino audiences and contributing to the growing movement to elevate Southeast Asian music on the international stage.

The Cambodian performer also revealed that he hopes to return to the Philippines for a solo concert in the future. While plans are still in the early stages, G-Devith said he is grateful for the warm welcome he has received from Filipino fans and looks forward to sharing more of his music with them with a future Manila concert.
