September 30 ------ Russia’s Bryansk and Belgorod regions came under fresh attack in recent days, hitting both industry and energy infrastructure, local officials and Russian media reported.

In Bryansk, Governor Alexander Bogomaz warned overnight of a missile threat but gave no details. Russian independent outlet ASTRA, citing residents, reported that the Elektrodedal plant in Karachev was struck early on Monday, Sept. 29. The facility produces electrical connectors used in both military and civilian industries.

According to the Supernova+ Telegram channel, the plant is part of the Radio-Electronic Technologies concern and develops and produces electronic warfare systems, measuring instruments, electronic connectors, and cable products. Hours earlier, on Sunday, a thermal power station in Belgorod was hit, leaving parts of the city and surrounding towns without electricity. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said traffic lights went out, many people were trapped in elevators, and hospitals and water services switched to backup power. He confirmed the strike targeted energy infrastructure and said two civilians were injured.

Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed its forces shot down 230 drones, six guided bombs, and several rockets fired from US-supplied HIMARS and Czech-made Vampire systems over the past day. At the same time, Ukraine faced one of the largest Russian bombardments in months. Kyiv reported that 595 drones and 48 missiles were launched against its territory, killing at least four people, including a 12-year-old girl. Homes, vehicles, and a cardiology institute in the capital were damaged.
