Bren Esports tops Execration for first MPL PH series win

March 29 ------ Bren Esports finally broke through in the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines (MPL PH). The defending MPL PH champion notched its first series win of Season 7 after toppling Execration in comeback fashion, 2-1, on Sunday, March 28.

Bren Esports kicked off its title-retention campaign on the wrong foot after succumbing to Onic PH (1-2), Nexplay Esports (0-2), and Aura PH (1-2) in its first 3 matches of the season. Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno and David "FlapTzy" Canon, though, made sure to flip the script as Bren Esports completed a reverse sweep against Execration in the best-of-three duel. Execration had no answers for FlapTzy after he put up 7 kills and 8 assists against 0 deaths with Khaleed in the do-or-die Game 3, which lasted for only under 12 minutes.

Game 3 still seemed in the balance at the 10-minute mark until Bren Esports nearly wiped out its foes in a battle for the Lord, with only Patrick "E2max" Caidic (Natalia) surviving for Execration. With the Lord in the lead, Bren Esports wrapped up the series with a 20-8 kill difference and a 9,000 gold advantage. KarlTzy also delivered a flawless performance of 9 kills and 4 assists against 0 deaths in Game 2 with Brody as Bren Esports forced a decider against Execration, which won Game 1 behind the annoying Diggie strategy. Already with 8 kills within the first 7 minutes of Game 2, KarlTzy dominated throughout en route to the swift 11-minute finish.

In the other matches of the day, Onic PH flexed its might against league newcomers Laus Playbook Esports with a 2-0 sweep, while Work Auster Force stunned Nexplay Esports, 2-1.
