Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Argentina reach Futsal Women's World Cup semis

December 3 ------ BRAZIL, Spain, Portugal, and Argentina reached the semifinals of the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025 after beating their respective opponents at the Philsports Arena.
Brazil showed why it is the No. 1 ranked team in the world by routing Japan, 6-1, on Tuesday night in their quarterfinal. Spain beat Morocco, 6-1, last Monday, while Portugal routed Italy, 7-2, last Tuesday, ensuring that the top three teams in the world reach the semifinals of the inaugural edition of the women’s futsal worlds backed by the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Football Federation.
Argentina, ranked No. 6 in the world, also progressed in a 4-1 win over Colombia last Monday, continuing its unbeaten run that included a 5-1 win over host Philippines last November 27. The top two teams in the world square off as Brazil battles Spain in the semifinals on Friday, 8:30 p.m. at the Philsports Arena. Portugal takes on Argentina in the other pairing at 6 p.m. Emilly scored a hat-trick in the 4th, 11th, and 39th minute for Brazil. Ana Luiza (9th), Debora Vanin (13th), and Luana Rodrigues (14th) scored the other goals of Brazil. “The main objective is to win the tournament,” said Emilly in Portuguese. “But we know that all the teams here are thinking about the same. There’s a lot of respect to them (Spain).”
Lidia Moreira made a brace for Portugal in the 6th, 21st, and 35th minute. Spain, which went unbeaten in Group B, advanced to the semifinals with the help of two goals by Irene Cordoba 14 and 29 seconds into the match, earning the record for the two fastest goals scored in the tournament. Lucia Rossi scored two goals in Argentina’s win over Colombia.
