MANILA, July 28 ------ Fresh off his Canada tour, Maki was welcomed home with a big win after being named "Male Artist of the Year" at the New Hue Video Music Awards. The singer-songwriter also took home the "Song of the Year" award for his mega hit "Dilaw." Meanwhile, BINI bagged the "Group Artist of the Year" honors while their "Grand BINIverse" concert was named the "Concert of the Year."

"Super meaningful sa akin. Super happy, just got back two days ago. Para sa akin this award holds so much power for all the other artists nominated. It is all about the music. It gives my heart passion and fire for all the things I will do," said Maki at the awarding ceremony in Taguig.

Maki dedicated his wins to his fans and to Filipino visual artists, and paid special tribute to BINI Maloi, who starred with him in the music video for "Dilaw." "Siyempre BINI Maloi na nakasama ko dito. It means a lot. Achievement namin siya ni Maloi as friends. Being in that MV [is] supporting all the Pinoy visual artists in the Philippines," he said.
