Ben&Ben celebrates 8th anniversary, reflects on growth and friendship

May 13 ------ Ben&Ben celebrated its 8th anniversary as a band.On social media, the nine-piece folk-pop band shared a photo from their celebration, which came complete with balloons, party hats, and a cake. “[Eight] years old na ang banda namin today. Sabi sa google, yung milestones ng mga bata pag 8 years old ay strong physical coordination, refined motor skills, at increasing cognitive abilities. Sa tingin namin, na-reach na namin yung milestones na yun as a band hahaha!” Ben&Ben wrote in the caption.

On stage, they said, they have memorized each other’s movements. “Alam namin kung sino yung, sa sobrang taas ng energy, makakalimutan tumingin sa paligid at baka makabangga kaya alam na namin kung sino mag aadjust.” Beyond the physical, they also highlighted their deep understanding of each other, stating that they have memorized each other’s moods. “Alam namin pag hindi okay ang isa samin bago pa man niya sabihin,” the band said.“Pero higit sa lahat, secure kami sa pagkakaibigan namin. Alam namin na we all want the best for each other. Kaya lagi kaming naka alalay sa bawat isa.”

Reaffirming the bond, they referenced their song “Saranggola,” quoting the lyric, “'di ipagpapalit ang pagkakaibigan,” and asserted that this sentiment will not change. “Thank you to all our listeners! For making our music a part of your lives and for welcoming new sounds from us. Thank you Liwanag, for sticking with us all these years. San man kami hipan ng hanging amihan, lagi kayong nariyan. Love you 9, love you Liwanag!” Ben&Ben will kick off their “The Traveller Across Dimensions” world tour in Cebu on May 24.
