MANILA, Philippines, October 14 ------ Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2025 Annabelle McDonnell is determined to win the country’s third Miss Globe crown following the victories of Miss Globe 2015 Anne Colis and Miss Globe 2021 Maureen Montagne. “I’m gonna be at my best in Miss Globe. Hahampasan ko sila ng balakang, guys, don’t worry. I will be ticking all those boxes in that department because I’m going to win for the Philippines,” she declared at a press conference in Manila, held prior to the international competition.
She is currently in Tirana, Albania, vying for the title, alongside 49 other contestants from around the globe, with the finals night to be held on Oct. 15. “I think I should be the next Miss Globe because I understand where people are coming from. I understood what it feels like to be marginalized, what it feels like to be left out in conversations, and what it feels like to be judged on how you look like or where you come from, or what accent you’re speaking with,” the beauty queen from Iligan said.
She continued, “When it comes to fostering camaraderie across a global community, I think I’m definitely somebody who’s) ready to connect with people based on where they are coming from, and moreover inspire them to be more than whatever other people told them that they can be. “I wanna inspire them to believe in the beauty of their dreams, but also believe that each one of us, no matter what our culture, region is from, we all have something to contribute to humanity, and we can all do our part within ourselves in the community to make this world a better place. “I think with so much divisiveness nowadays, we all need to go back to being rooted in our humanity, having a sense of compassion, humanity for one another, and we can face everything together.”
The Miss Globe 2025 is Annabelle’s second international pageant competition after emerging as the Miss Charm 2023 first runner-up in Vietnam. When asked how she will bring her A-game to the global pageant, she said it would be by simply being herself. “Looking back on my first foray into international pageantry, all people said, ‘What character do you wanna portray?’ And I’m not an actress yet, you know. So I would just like to be myself and not be apologetic about where I come from,” the “hometown girl” from Iligan shared. “I’ve had the privilege to grow up in a very religious and really diverse city, culture-wise as well, we’re home to different tribes. And it comes a long way in making me realize that our differences are really about (helping us) towards being more connected. In fact, it makes conversation, it makes more fun and richer because you learn from each other.”
During the send-off event hosted by Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. for Annabelle, held at World Kitchens in Gateway Mall 2, her loved ones, BPCI family, and Binibini sisters extended their well-wishes to her.
Annabelle was born in the United Kingdom and was raised by her Tito Tata in Iligan City, Lanao Del Norte. A “self-made woman and certified raketera,” she started working at a young age, balancing modeling, hosting, and other endeavors to support her family. She was a working student at the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, a full academic scholar and a feature writer for her university publication. She graduated with a degree in Consular and Diplomatic Affairs.
