MANILA, February 10 ------ The stars of the upcoming teleserye "FPJ's Batang Quiapo" thanked actor-director Coco Martin for including them on the series
Irma Adlawan said she felt special when she got the call from Martin. "Thank you for making me feel very special. Of course, I've worked with Coco (Martin) for a very long time since indie days pa namin, hindi pa siya, 'the' Coco Martin, pero Coco Martin na siya dito (sa puso). I've known him for quite a while ... kasi very short 'yung stint ko with 'Ang Probinsyano' medyo schedule-wise, ang mga kasama ko ay masyadong busy so na-shorten kami," she said. "But this time around, hopefully I will be with him longer than 'Ang Probinsyano.' Thank you again and they were the first one to call that's why."
Christopher de Leon recalled saying yes right away after Martin explained his character. "More often 'yung priority ko is 'yung project itself, my role, what is the role, what is the character. Mabilis n'yang na-explain agad sa akin, kung ano 'yung gusto niya nung tumawag siya," he said. "He knows what he wanted. He wants me to play this role and nakuha ko kaagad and this is going to be something big." Miles Ocampo said she has looked up to Martin since she was still a kid.
Asked how he chose the cast, Martin said: "Inalam namin siyempre kung sino 'yung makakakaya o makakatumbas sa talento at pag-arte kaya sila talaga 'yung napili namin.
"FPJ's Batang Quiapo" will start airing on February 13 – just half a year since the finale of Martin's historic “Ang Probinsyano.”
