MANILA, Philippines, May 6 ------ Only two Filipino imports in Chiba’s Quentin Millora-Brown and Gunma’s AJ Edu remain as the 2025-26 B.League season enters the group championship phase.

The Jets and the Crane Thunders, the second and third seeds in the Eastern Conference with identical 42-18 records, battle in a best-of-three quarterfinal series beginning Saturday. Chiba swept Gunma in their two-game series in the eliminations back in October. Millora-Brown’s status, however, remains uncertain with a sciatica injury. He’s been out since getting hurt against Alvark Tokyo on March 29.

Edu, meanwhile, has been a solid contributor on both ends of the floor for Gunma, averaging 6.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists. 0.8 steals and a block this season. The Crane Thunders are the hottest team in the league heading into the postseason, having won 18 of their last 20 games. The winner of this series takes on either the Nagasaki Velca or Alvark Tokyo in the semifinals. The Alvark Tokyo beat out Dwight Ramos and the Levanga Hokkaido for a spot in the playoffs.

Ray Parks Jr. and Osaka Evessa placed ninth in the West with a 23-27 card. Francis Lopez’s FE Nagoya finished at the bottom of the pack with an 18-42 slate. In the East, Kiefer Ravena’s Yokohama B-Corsairs were seventh with a 26-34 record, while Kai Sotto’s Koshigaya Alphas finished ninth at 21-29.
