September 10 ------ AURORA Gaming extended their win streak to four after outsmarting Twisted Minds and sweeping TNC Pro Team, seizing the No. 1 spot in the MPL Philippines Season 16 standings.
Time and again, Aurora proved their prowess and took on strong contenders without hesitation on their way to the top. Let’s take a look back at another action-packed week in the MPL arena.
Plot twist denied
Aurora Gaming outlasted Twisted Minds with a hard-fought 2-1 victory, denying the rookies’ bid to recover from their loss to MSC 2025 champions Team Liquid Philippines a week prior.
In Game 1, Aurora overwhelmed Twisted Minds with Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto on Baxia taking the lead in securing jungle objectives to establish a big gold lead difference. Dominic “Domengkite” Del Mundo, playing as Harith, was a steady force as he delivered a double kill during the final base turret siege and a flawless 4-0-7 KDA. Silent but deadly, Dylan “Light” Catipon on Chip and his global presence on the map earned the MVP honors with a 1-2-12 KDA.
Twisted Minds refused to back down in Game 2, showcasing their discipline in team fights and not conceding deaths until the 9-minute mark. Michael “MP the King” Endino on Lancelot pierced through the backlines and pulled off an impressive 5-1-1 KDA, helping Twisted Minds tie the series at 1-1. Edward “Edward” Dapadap on Lapu-Lapu came up with a game-winning Land Shaker-Flicker combo to catch four Twisted Minds members during the final clash. The MVP was none other than Edward with a 5-0-6 KDA and 92% kill participation.
Northern light prevails
Aurora Gaming then pulled off a dominant 2-0 sweep against TNC Pro Team to close out their Week 3 campaign in style.
In Game 1, Aurora crushed TNC Pro Team with a flawless 9-0 scoreline, completing the opener in just 12 minutes without a single death conceded.
Light’s deadly precision with Franco earned him the MVP honors with a 0-0-8 KDA. He currently leads the top spot of the all-time MPL PH Franco stats, boasting a record of 36 games played and a 66.67% win rate.
TNC did everything to stay alive in Game 2, but the moment of truth arrived when Light’s Badang successfully initiated a team fight at the top lane during the 16-minute period. Light stole the spotlight once again with a 0-4-5 KDA.
Aurora Gaming will fight to defend their top spot with a 4-1 win-loss record next week against challengers AP.Bren and Smart Omega.
