This August, let’s prioritize our children’s eye health. Good vision is essential for learning, development, and daily activities.

Parents can help protect their children’s vision in the following ways:

  • Limit screen time and encourage regular breaks from digital devices.

  • Promote outdoor play and daily exposure to natural light.

  • Follow the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes of screen use, look at something about 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.

  • Schedule regular comprehensive eye examinations to detect vision problems early, even if your child does not report difficulty seeing.

  • Early detection and timely treatment of vision problems can help ensure that children have the best opportunity to learn, grow, and develop to their full potential.

Let’s make eye health a regular part of every child’s routine.
