February 4 ------ Krishnah Gravidez’s reign as Miss World Philippines has finally concluded a year and a half since her coronation in 2024, with the coronation of Asia Rose Simpson from Quezon City as her successor.
The new queen triumphed over 23 other aspirants from across the country and overseas Filipino communities in ceremonies held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Tuesday evening, Feb. 3.
Simpson is one of the youngest contestants at just 17 years old. She won the Miss World Philippines-Quezon City search last year. In 2023, she competed as New Mexico’s representative in the Miss Teen USA pageant, where she was voted Miss Congeniality. Two runners-up were proclaimed in the 2026 Miss World Philippines pageant—First Princess Anne De Mesa from Manila and Second Princess Gabrielle Fuentes Galapia from Pampanga.
Reigning Miss World Opal Suchata Chuangsri joined Gravidez in crowning the new Miss World Philippines, who will be representing the country in the next edition of the international pageant later this year.
The Philippines is aiming to score its second victory in the Miss World pageant, which has remained elusive since Megan Young posted the country’s first win more than a decade ago in 2013.
Gravidez gave a strong performance in last year’s international competition, where she emerged as the second top performer from the whole of Asia and Oceania. She was also proclaimed as Miss World Asia after the competition.
Several other national titleholders will come from the 2026 Miss World Philippines batch, all of them gaining the opportunity to represent the Philippines in the Miss Global, Miss Tourism International, Universal Woman, Miss Teen International, and Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International pageants.
