August 12 ------ After their stint — be they regular or celebrity — inside “Pinoy Big Brother” (PBB) house, former housemates usually move forward, pick up where they left off or start anew. However, one thing is clear: “PBB” has a good and positive impact on them, especially on celebrities’ careers, like renewed visibility. Ashley Ortega, one of the 10 Sparkle GMA artists chosen to live in the famous abode on TV, can attest to and vouch for the blessings that came with being a “PBB” housemate.
“Actually, sobrang laki po nung impact,” said Ashley in a recent press conference that celebrated the participation of each Kapuso housemate in the successful “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.” “And I think we’re all aware of it.” “And we’re grateful to be part of it,” she added. “It actually changed my life as an actress, also. One of the reasons I joined ‘PBB’ was mas makilala ako ng mga tao as Ashley Ortega kasi bilang matagal na rin po ako sa industriya. Lagi po nila akong nakikita sa mga teleserye and the roles that I portrayed.”
Prior to entering the “PBB” house, she has appeared in “Hearts on Ice,” “Royal Blood,” “Pulang Araw,” “Magpakailanman,” and “Regal Studio Presents,” and in the film, “As If It’s True.” “But (being) inside the ‘PBB’ house, mas nakilala nila ako as Ashley, as how I am as a person,” she shared, “and it changed my life even though I was the first evictee.” For the most recent “PBB” edition, she and AC Bonifacio were the first housemates to exit and leave the house, after displaying resilience and tenacity by staying in it and carrying out daily tasks for 20 days. “So unexpected, sobrang daming blessings pong dumating sa buhay ko,” said she, “and I will always be grateful for that, especially to my supporters.”
When she got evicted, Ashley thought that it “was like a huge embarrassment, pero nung paglabas ko sa outside world, it was the other way around, as in I was loved and supported by a lot of people.” “If it weren’t for them, feeling ko, it wasn’t easy for me to recover right away,” she added, appreciating the fans’ warm welcome and support. “I’m so grateful to the brands that trust me right now and to the endorsements na nakuha ko,” shared Ashley.
In fact, a beauty and wellness drink brand reached out to her after her “PBB” stay, and she is now part of its family as an endorser. “I’m so grateful for that,” she said. “(Apart from) that, marami ring lumapit. May mga projects na rin actually. There’s a teleserye and a movie. May MMFF movie akong gagawin.” “So, I’m just really grateful at lahat po ng di ko i-nexpect, lahat nangyari,” concluded she, who acted in “Lolong Pangil ng Maynila” after gracing “PBB: Celebrity Collab Edition.” “Actually, all of us, ‘PBB’ changed our lives and we will always be grateful sa lahat ng mga taong nagmahal at sumuporta po sa amin.”
