Another magnitude 5.0 earthquake strikes Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales, October 16 ------ Another earthquake was felt in this province in the early hours on Thursday, October 16. In its bulletin, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said a magnitude 5.0 earthquake was recorded in this province at 2:09 a.m.
The earthquake’s epicenter was located 8 kilometers (km) northwest Masinloc town with a depth of 24 km. Intensity IV was felt in the capital town of Iba, Intensity III in Masinloc and Cabangan town, Intensity II in Botolan and San Marcelino while Intensity I felt in Dinalupihan, Orani, and Abucay in nearby Bataan province; Guagua, Pampanga; City of Tarlac, Bamban, and Santa Ignacia, Tarlac; and Subic town.
Residents here and in other towns in this province also felt the tremors. Minutes before the magnitude 5.0 quake, Phivolcs reported that 3.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 2:04 a.m. Its epicenter was located 4 km northwest of Masinloc town with a depth of 24 km. On October 11, a magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck the province, followed by minor tremors.
