MANILA, April 7 ------ Another Filipina has been killed in Israel amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the Department of Foreign Affairs announced.
The agency said the Filipino national was killed in a missile attack on a residence in Haifa, Israel evening of Sunday, April 5, alongside her husband and elderly parents-in-law. It said the Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv has informed the bereaved family and is providing the necessary assistance, including arrangements for the earliest possible repatriation of her remains. “The family requests privacy at this difficult time to grieve in peace,” DFA said. “We join the Filipino community in praying for her eternal rest and for strength for her family during this time of profound loss,” it added.
An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was also killed in Israel last month, at the onset of the conflict sparked by the United States and Israel’s attacks on Iran. U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday (April 6) the Tuesday deadline he has set for Iran to make a deal is final and unlikely to be extended, calling Iran's peace proposal significant but not good enough. Trump has warned U.S. forces will unleash broad attacks on Iranian infrastructure if his Tuesday night deadline for a deal is not met.
