March 19 ------ ALLAIN Ganapin clinched a berth in the 2024 Paralympic Games after ruling the Asian Qualification Tournament held in Tai’an, China. Ganapin defeated Sandeep Singh Maan of India, 25-13, in the men’s 80kg final for the lone berth for Asia in the men’s 80kg category.
Ganapin earned a berth in Paris after clinching a spot in the Tokyo Paralympic Games in 2021 through a bipartite invitation. He, however, didn’t compete after testing positive of COVID-19 during the event itself.
Ganapin is the third Filipino to qualify in the 2024 Paralympic Games following swimmers Ernie Gawilan and Angel Otom.
