Alex Eala set for homecoming match vs Janice Tjen at PH Arena

MANILA, Philippines, September 6 ------ Alex Eala is set to play at home against Indonesia’s Janice Tjen on December 8 at Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
The Filipino tennis ace announced her homecoming on Friday, facing her fellow Southeast Asian rising star in an exhibition game titled “Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate” hosted by Tatler Sports at the country’s biggest arena, which has a capacity of more than 50,000. “Get ready for an unforgettable day of world-class tennis and the celebration of national pride, designed to inspire the next generation of Filipino tennis players. I can’t wait to share this moment with you and celebrate our culture together,” Eala said in a video announcement.
Eala also announced that fans can start pre-registering for the event, while thanking Filipinos for their support ahead of the US Open. Eala, currently the top-ranked Southeast Asian in the WTA rankings at No. 18, teamed up with Tjen at the Abu Dhabi Open, reaching the semifinals.
Both are competing in the US Open, with Eala seeded No. 17 and set to face a qualifier. Tjen takes on No. 5 seed Mirra Andreeva in the first round.
