Alex Eala enters Hong Kong campaign with new career-high

MANILA, October 28 ------ Alex Eala got a huge boost ahead of her Hong Kong Open campaign as the Filipina tennis ace notched a new WTA World Ranking career-best of No.51. Previously at No.53, this was a positive development for the 20-year-old who is currently teaming up with Chan Hao-Ching of Chinese Taipei in the doubles division against Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Kamilla Rakhimova.

This was despite Eala falling to Moyuka Uchijima of Japan in the qualifying round of the WTA 1000 Wuhan Open, to Tereza Valentova of the Czech Republic in the Japan Open, and Claire Liu of the USA in the Guangzhou Open. Meanwhile, Eala’s singles Hong Kong Open main draw match will begin tomorrow against World No. 79 Katie Boulter of Great Britain.
