August 10 ------ VETERAN Alex Cabagnot is set for a PBA comeback. The 41-year-old Cabagnot will don the purple color of Converge for Season 49 of the PBA. The FiberXers made the announcement Monday through their social media account.

The signing of Cabagnot is expected to give the team's backcourt the needed stability under interim coach Franco Atienza. He brings with him a 17-year experience of playing in Asia's pioneering pro league in a decorated career marked by nine championships - all with the San Miguel franchise - eight All-Star appearances, and one Finals MVP.

Cabagnot was the no. 2 overall pick in the 2005 draft by Sta. Lucia, and had stints later on with Coca-Cola, Burger King, Northport, and Terrafirma. He is coming off a stint with the Taiwan Mustangs in The Asian Tournament prior to his signing with Converge. The announcement on Cabagnot's signing with Converge also came on the day the franchise officially announced its deal with Serbian Rajko Toroman as the team's active consultant, and Charles Tiu as part of the FiberXers' coaching staff.
