Aldin Ayo named Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 head coach

November 10 ------ Resigned University of Santo Tomas head coach Aldin Ayo was named on Monday as the new head tactician of the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3, which will represent the country in the upcoming FIBA 3x3 tournaments.

"I'm very grateful because, for me, this will bring another dimension to my coaching career," Aldin Ayo said. "Throughout my coaching career, it was the full-length of the court, but this time will be different. I can't wait to try out new schemes for half-court," he added.

Ayo will succeed former head coach Eric Altamirano. The former UST coach has made headlines in the past few months following the controversy on the "Sorsogon bubble," which led to the exit of several UST players, including team captain CJ Cansino and rookie of the year Mark Nonoy.

The UAAP has imposed an indefinite ban on Aldin Ayo following the alleged breach of protocols which happened during the quarantine period. However, the coach said he will appeal his case to the UAAP board. Ayo led Colegio de San Juan de Letran and De La Salle University to championships back in 2015 and 2016, respectively.
