October 27 ------ Airlines are reminding passengers to plan ahead for the Undas holiday rush, allowing extra time for airport travel, checking baggage limits, and preparing required travel documents to avoid delays.

With heavier road traffic expected during the peak travel period, passengers are advised to arrive at airports at least three hours before domestic flights and four hours before international flights, according to Cebu Pacific (CEB). Check-in counters close 45 minutes before scheduled departure for domestic flights and one hour before international flights. Boarding begins 45 minutes before departure, and passengers are encouraged to proceed to immigration and final security checks immediately after checking in.

Travelers may avoid long queues by checking in through the airline’s mobile app or website. Online check-in is available from 48 hours before departure until one hour before domestic flights and two hours before international flights. Domestic passengers who have checked in online and have no checked baggage may proceed directly to their boarding gates.

At Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, the airline’s bag drop counters are located at Aisles A and B. Passengers may also use self-service kiosks to prepare their boarding passes.

Baggage limits

Passengers flying on Cebu Pacific (5J) flights may bring up to 10 kilograms of total hand-carry items, while flights operated by Cebgo (DG) retain a seven-kilogram allowance, effective Sept. 15, 2026. Each passenger may bring a maximum of two hand-carry items: one bag for the overhead compartment and one personal item that fits under the seat in front.

The maximum dimensions are 56 cm by 36 cm by 23 cm for hand-carry baggage and 20 cm by 35 cm by 20 cm for personal items. Items that exceed the permitted limits must be checked in, subject to applicable baggage fees. Passengers may purchase checked baggage allowance or add extra weight through the airline’s Manage Booking portal. The airline allows up to three pieces of 20-kilogram checked baggage, with additional weight allowances of four, eight, or 12 kilograms available for each purchased piece.

Additional baggage allowance may be purchased online up to two hours before departure. Power banks and electronic devices Portable electronic devices, including phones, laptops, and tablets, must be packed in hand-carry baggage and not in checked luggage. According to the airline’s advisory, passengers may bring power banks with a capacity of up to 100 watt-hours (Wh). These must be carried in the cabin and placed in a pocket or the seat pocket in front of the passenger, not in overhead bins or under seats. The airline also prohibits the use and charging of power banks during flights.

International travel requirements

Passengers traveling internationally are encouraged to complete or update their eTravel forms within 72 hours before departure from or arrival in the Philippines and save the QR code generated after submission. Those taking round-trip international flights must complete the form twice, once for departure and again for arrival.

After generating the QR code, passengers should complete the Customs Declaration Form before arrival and keep the code accessible for scanning by customs officers after baggage claim. The eTravel form may be completed through the eGovPH app or the official eTravel website. Passengers are also advised to check the specific travel requirements of their destinations.

Airport procedures and flight updates

Passengers departing from select domestic airports are reminded to self-tag their checked baggage at designated kiosks before proceeding to bag-drop counters. Self-bag-drop kiosks are also available at NAIA Terminal 3 and Clark International Airport. Travelers are encouraged to keep their contact details updated through the airline’s Manage Booking portal to receive flight reminders and notifications about schedule changes.
