October 7 ------ Miss Cosmo Philippines Ahtisa Manalo has finished her Miss Cosmo International pageant journey in the Top 10 after a spirited campaign that had tremendous support from pageant fans and followers.
The Miss Cosmo International pageant coronation night was streamed on YouTube and saw Miss Cosmo Indonesia Ketut Permata Juliastrid take the crown and the USD$100,000 cash prize. Meanwhile, aside from the Top 10 finish, Ahtisa also won the Cosmo People's Choice Award, which involved three levels of voting.
The Miss Philippines organization had been campaigning fiercely for Ahtisa in the People's Choice Award, sending out one last call for votes before the voting concluded yesterday. The win guaranteed Ahtisa's placement in the Miss Cosmo International Top 10. This isn't The Miss Philippines' first call for votes, as the organization also called for a “last push” of votes so Ahtisa could win the National Pride Award, the second stage of the Cosmo People's Choice Award. Ahtisa would go on to place second in the stage.
Ahtisa participated in the Jury Sessions after suffering a sprained ankle that led to her missing some of the Miss Cosmo International activities. Ahtisa has already wowed pageant fans with her national costume made by Filipino designer Ehrran Montoya and inspired by Mars Ravelo's superheroine, Dyesebel. Ahtisa was named the country's Miss Cosmo Philippines representative last May during the Miss Universe Philippines pageant. Chelsea Manalo won the Miss Universe Philippines crown, while the Miss Supranational Philippines crown was awarded to Tarah Valencia. Alexie Mae Brooks was named Miss Eco International Philippines while Cyrille Payumo was named Miss Charm Philippines.
