After 11 years, Benjamin Alves receives first acting nomination

August 6 ------ On Instagram, the Kapuso actor shared the happy news about his nomination from the ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards, posting photos taken in Malaysia. “After 11 years, it does feel good that somehow you’re being noticed," Benjamin said. "Thank you to ASEAN International Film Festival & Awards for the nomination," he added, tagging the award-giving body. The Sparkle star added that it was “already a pleasure just being invited to attend the festival.”

Benjamin, who was accompanied by his fiancée, Chelsea Robato, was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor category for his work the 2022 film "Angkas (The Back Ride)," which stars Joem Bascon and Meryll Soriano. It was directed by Rain Yamson.
