September 1 ------ ABS-CBN Music’s Jonathan Manalo has reached a new milestone in his career, becoming an official voting member of the prestigious Recording Academy, the body behind the Grammy Awards. The multi-awarded Filipino music producer shared the news on Instagram. "Milestone Unlocked. I’m so happy to share that I am now officially a voting member of the Recording Academy/GRAMMY Awards," he posted on Instagram.
Jonathan expressed his gratitude for the role, saying: "Becoming part of the @RecordingAcademy’s 2025 New Member Class is an incredible honor. It means joining a global community of creators and professionals who are shaping the future of music and raising the standard of excellence worldwide," he stated.
As a voting member, Jonathan now has a direct voice in the Grammy Awards process. "As a member, I now have a voice in the GRAMMY Awards process, a platform to advocate for our industry, and an opportunity to stand alongside my peers as we uplift one another and the art form we love," he relayed. Looking ahead, the Filipino producer said he is ecstatic to share his perspective and insights with the Academy. "The strength of the Academy comes from its diversity of genres, experiences, and voices. I’m humbled and excited to contribute my own perspective, and to champion music that connects, inspires, and moves the world," he stated.
Jonathan currently serves as the AVP and Head of Content, Creatives, and Operations at ABS-CBN Music, where he continues to shape the landscape of Filipino music and champion emerging talent. His cultural contributions have earned him significant recognition over the years. He was named one of the “Ten Outstanding Music Artists” of the 2010s by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and, in 2023, was honored with the Gawad Pio Valenzuela Award for his impact as a songwriter and music producer.
In a previous interview with Billboard Philippines, Jonathan reflected on his journey in the industry. “Honestly, I never imagined I’d reach this level of success. The journey hasn’t been easy—the grind is real, and the hard work is tougher than people might think. Doing the work, paying the dues, showing up every single day—that’s what I committed to, even when I had no idea what the outcome would be,” he remarked.” No one can really predict where the path will lead, but what’s certain is you have to do what you need to do if you want to get somewhere,” he shared. “And now, seeing the milestones I’ve recently achieved, I’m just overwhelmed and grateful. It’s been a long road, but every step mattered.”
