MANILA, March 13 ------ PLDT will join the 2025 AVC Women’s Champions League as the third Philippine team, alongside champion PVL teams Creamline and Petro Gazz. “Happy naman na masama kasi higher level of competition. Maraming matututunan at makukuhang experience,” said High Speed Hitters head coach Rald Ricafort.
As per the PVL, the Philippines has been granted a third slot after already being given a bonus berth earlier this month which was handed to Petro Gazz, the second-ranked team after the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference preliminaries. The Cool Smashers can tap three imports, the Angels can get just one, and the High Speed Hitters can elist two.
PLDT's leading scorer Savi Davison - like the Petro Gazz’ Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips - will be considered a foreign guest player, as she is still affiliated with Volleyball Canada. The 12-team regional conclave will take place from April 20 to 27 at the Philsports Arena. Already confirmed for the tournament are Thailand's Nakhon Ratchasima QminC and Vietnam's VTV Bình Điền Long An. “We’ll do our best to represent PLDT and our country lalo na na tayo ang host,” added Ricafort.
