2 storms forecast to enter PH — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines, September 5 ------ The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Thursday that it was closely monitoring two potential weather disturbances that may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) over the next two weeks. Weather specialist Benison Estareja said these two tropical cyclones would be named "Ferdie" and "Gener" once inside PAR.

In the meantime, the trough of Typhoon "Enteng" (international name: "Yagi") is affecting the Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur where cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms would prevail, the Pagasa forecaster said.

He said the southwest monsoon or "habagat" was being enhanced by Enteng and bringing rains over Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan and Occidental Mindoro. The same weather system is expected to bring occasional rains over Metro Manila, La Union, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, Northern Palawan, and the rest of Central Luzon.

The rest of the country, meanwhile, will be experiencing partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated downpours or thunderstorms within 24 hours due to the localized thunderstorms, the state-run weather agency said.
