MANILA, February 4 ------ Two Filipino police officers earned top honors in an International Police Exchange Program in the Middle East. Maj. Florece Inar Vic Florece of the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office ranked first among 51 participants from 35 countries in the program hosted by the United Arab Emirates' Ministry of Interior at the Abu Dhabi Police College. Another Filipino officer, Capt. Joseph Pelobello, placed fifth overall, in the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The awards were conferred during a ceremony attended by senior UAE leaders, including Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, held Thursday last week.
"These accomplishments on the global stage reflect the strength of our training institutions and our continuing reforms toward professionalism, leadership excellence, and global standards in policing," PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a statement. He described the accomplishments as a "source of immense pride for the entire PNP," as he commended the two for honorably representing the Philippines on the global stage.
The international exchange program aimed to enhance global partnerships and leadership skills among law enforcement officers worldwide. It also underscored the importance of international collaboration and leadership in modern policing.
