UFC flyweight champ Figueiredo returns to action 21 days after successful title defense

November 23 ------ Reigning UFC flyweight world champion Deiveson Figueiredo is slated for a quick return inside the octagon following his first successful defense of the world title. The 32-year-old champion from Brazil needed just 1:57 to submit Alex Perez in the main event of UFC 255 last Sunday at UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

Shortly after the bout, UFC president Dana White revealed that they are looking to feature Figueiredo again next month. “We’re going to keep him (Figueiredo) here. He’s not going back to Brazil,” said White during the post-fight press conference. “We’re going to turn him right around [in] December. That’s what we’re working on.”

According to a report by ESPN, the UFC is looking to pit Figueiredo against Brandon Moreno on December 12 at UFC 256. Moreno was on the same card as Figueiredo this past weekend where he scored a first-round technical knockout victory over Brandon Royval which earned him a shot at the title.
