PH actress honored to compete in Miss Eco Int’l 2020 in Egypt

March 22 ------ Reigning Miss Eco International Philippines Kelley Day has said she is honored to represent the Philippines at the Miss Eco International 2020 pageant, which will be held in Egypt on May 26.

“To be representing the Philippines [on the] Miss Eco International stage is a remarkable honor and I will carry with me the pride and diligence of my fellow Filipinos who put their trust in me in this journey,” Kelley said in her tourism video for the international competition.

The Miss Eco International 2020 pageant was originally set in March. But due to the threats of COVID-19, organizers moved the competition to May. The 23-year-old actress, model, host, and social media influencer said she is excited to explore Egypt during the pageant. “I cant wait to participate in Egypt’s environmental campaigns and to learn how sustainability is encouraged through the governmental and educational program. I believe that sharing this knowledge is vital for advancing eco tourism around the globe,” she said. The British-Filipino added: “I am also excited to explore Egypt’s diversity, its world famous pyramids, ancient artifacts, clear water beaches, unique deserts, and bustling cities.”

In 2018, model-actress Cynthia Thomalla captured the 1st Miss Eco International crown for the Philippines. Kelley said she is ready to show the world how she can be a catalyst for positive change and innovation. She also said she channels her creative and emotional energies through composing and performing music. In keeping a healthy body and mind, she stays active by being outdoors and taking part in all kinds of sports, Kelley said. “I have developed an open mind and fascination for all types of cultures and ideas,” she added. Born in Dubai, Kelley is a former member of the all-girl dance group GirlTrends for the popular Kapamilya noontime program “It’s Showtime.” In February, she joined GMA Network Artist Center.
