PBA postpones season opening to March 8 due to coronavirus threat

February 11 ------ The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) postponed the opening of its 45th season due to concerns over the novel coronavirus. In an statement posted on Facebook, the league announced the new date of the season-opener on March 8. The opening was originally scheduled on March 1.

The PBA D-League also postponed its opening from the original date of February 13 to March 2. "Preventive measures against N-COV are now in place and will be implemented. The safety of our fans, teams, players and officials remain to be our top-most priority," the post read.
