More than 400 receive COVID-19 vaccines on Day 1

March 2 ------ At least 416 health workers and government officials received their first dose of Coronavac, which is a vaccine developed by Sinovac Biotech, on the first day of COVID-19 vaccinations based on data collected by GMA News Research. In the report on State of the Nation, with the vaccine roll out community quarantine protocols can be relaxed a bit and later lifted said Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez Jr.

Galvez said modified general community quarantine or MGCQ may be implemented soon nationwide as well as face-to-face classes in May or by the second quarter of the year if the vaccine rollout will proceed as planned. He said that President Rodrigo Duterte had expressed that he wants 2 million COVID-19 doses on standby so vaccination will go on continuously.

Duterte said on Sunday evening that it is possible that the situation will go back to normal by 2023 even with the arrival of the vaccine. After the vaccinations in referral hospitals on Monday, the same will be done in other hospitals in the coming days.
