Mocaibat rips Taiwanese in Sharks duel

MANILA, Philippines, January 27 ------ Home bet Baseth “Kingpin” Mocaibat clobbered Chang “Fire Dragon” Jung-Lin of Chinese Taipei with a 63-39 win in the grueling Sharks One-on-One, Race-to-63 10-ball championship at the Sharks Billiards and Pool Arena in Diliman, Quezon City recently.

The cue artist from Dasmariñas City banked on a searing 21-9 start behind a bevy of clean racks and never looked back for a clinical win in the three-stage joust organized by the Sharks Billiards League led by tournament director Hadley Mariano, and supported by Bugsy Promotion, Hardtimes Sports Bar, Andy Billiards Cloth and Billiards Managers and Players Association of the Philippines (BMPAP).

Midway through the match, Mocaibat was already miles ahead at 42-24 before unleashing an even stronger finishing kick for a convincing 24-point win that further stamped the class of Philippine billiards.

With the win, Mocaibat gained a chunk of points to move up in the local ranking of BMPAP plus a cash prize as the new 10-ball king of the SBL santioned by the Games and Amusements Board. But more than, “The Kingpin” said it’s the victory of Philippine billiards. This victory is for our bayang bilyarista,” beamed Mocaibat.
