Jason Abalos gets Master's degree

November 18 ------ Hardworking movie actor Jason Abalos faced the media to gleefully announce the renewal of his contract with GMA Artist Center and give an update on his role in the afternoon series Tres Hermanas. But while he heartfully thanked the Kapuso network for supporting his career, we couldn’t help but admire Jason for standing out among his contemporaries in showbiz. While there are a lot of talented actors in his field, Jason continues to inspire his fans by being a strong advocate for literacy and education.

Jason surely knows how to walk the talk. He proudly revealed that he received recently his Master’s Degree in Management, major in public administration from Philippine Christian University. And he won’t stop here because getting a doctorate degree soon after is in the works. Jason graduated with a degree in civil engineering in college and while he was not able to make full use of his profession, the master’s degree with specialization in public policy will surely be useful if he succeeds in his quest to become a board member of Nueva Ecija. Last October, he filed his certificate of candidacy in next year’s elections in his province. He clarified that his graduate education has nothing to do with his desire to run for public office. It all stems more from his goal to “leave a legacy” and teach a new generation of students.

“It is a dream of Vickie and I to put up a school to give a chance to countless number of people who are not able to afford quality education,” Jason said. Vickie is no other than his girlfriend of many years, the beauty queen and former PBB housemate Vickie Rushton. Vickie supports Jason in all his endeavors. One thing both of them agree on is for those in showbiz to level up by going back to school. Jason enthuses that the pandemic is the best time for his colleagues to pursue higher learning. “Online schooling is the trend now and this makes it so easy for my colleagues to pursue their dream of studying. It is a huge advantage for us as we don’t have to be physically present in school, so why not make full use of the opportunity?“ Jason noted.

Looking back, Jason said he’s already in showbiz for 17 years and observes that the next three years he will spend with GMA Artist Center will certainly be epic. His stint with Tres Hermanas has been memorable so far. “I have full trust in GMA to steer my career. I will wait for the meaningful projects they will give me. I believe that I don’t have to plan anything, as God’s plan for me is bigger. All I need to do now is to prepare myself for all the great things the Lord has in store for me” Jason said.
