IMMAJ Welcomes their Scholars and Families with a Luncheon



The International Mariners Management Association of Japan (IMMAJ) through the IMMAJ-PJMCC Foundation, Inc. hosted a luncheon in honor of their scholars and their families at the Mess Hall of the Capt. Gregorio S. Oca building, MAAP Campus, Mariveles, Bataan after their graduation ceremony.


Of the 32 IMMAJ scholars from the first batch of graduates belonging to the Serezaeons Class of 2019, 12 graduated with degrees in Marine Transportation and 20 obtained their bachelor’s degrees in Marine Engineering from the distinguished institution earlier.


IMMAJ-PJMCC Foundation, Inc. Projects Consultant, CE Wenifredo Sola began the program by welcoming IMMAJ dignitaries led by Chairman, Capt. Koichi Akamine; Vice Chairman, Mr. Shunsuke Imada; Secretary General, Mr. Toshihito Inoue; Deputy Secretary General, CE Toshiyuki Kiyohara; Operations Officer, Ms. Reiko Sato; Deputy Secretary General, Capt. Shohei Teranishi; Manila Representative, Capt. Yasuteru Shigeta; CE Masataka Fukuta; CE Tamaki Shinotsuka; Capt. Danpei Mori and Ms. Etsuko Yamada-Desembrana.


CE Sola likewise welcomed the presence of Philippine-Japan Manning Consultative Council (PJMCC) sponsors Capt. Teodoro B. Quijano, Ms. Theda Bernadette M. Quijano and Engr. Bernardo R. Guzman of Barko International, Inc.; Mr. Jayson David and Jemyr Faye Sapitan of BSM Crew Service Centre Philippines, Inc.; Capt. Rex B. Namoc and Mr. Cris Capote of Eastgate Maritime Corporation; Mr. Michael Besitula, C/M Gino C. PJMCC Vice President Capt. Teodoro B. Quijano gave his fatherly advise to the graduates as he took to the stage. IMMAJ Chairman Capt. Koichi Akamine thanked the families of the scholars for their support. “I congratulate you for giving our graduate unconditional love and support during their studies in MAAP. Your efforts and sacrifices have paid off and now your children have become promising seafarers that Japanese fleet is honored to have.” He assured the parents that their children will be in good hands of the Japanese fleet and he looks forward to them having long careers in seafaring. “Congratulations again and I look forward to see the members of the class of 2019 as Master and Chief Engineers onboard IMMAJ ships at the soonest possible time.”


Both gentlemen then proceeded to the Awarding of Gifts to graduates with honors. The program concluded with the graduates receiving their gifts and tokens from their sponsors.
