BTS bags Grammy nomination anew

November 24 ------ K-pop superstars BTS have been nominated for the Grammy Awards, their second straight year to do so.

The Recording Academy announced the nominations in 86 categories for the 64th Grammy Awards on Nov. 23 (Nov. 24 in the Philippines) with BTS as one of the presenters. For the 64th Grammy Awards, BTS are nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Butter,” an award “for new vocal or instrumental duo/group or collaborative pop recordings. Singles or Tracks only.”

The nominees for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 64th Grammy Awards are:

– “Butter” – BTS

– “I Get A Kick Out Of You” – Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga

– “Lonely” – Justin Bieber & benny blanco

– “Higher Power” – Coldplay

– “Kiss Me More” – Doja Cat Featuring SZA

BTS made history last year when they got nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their hit song “Dynamite” at the 63rd Grammy Awards, becoming the first K-pop act to get a Grammy nomination. It was their first time to get a Grammy nomination for their music. At the 61st Grammy Awards held in February 2019, BTS’ album “Love Yourself: Tear” was nominated in the craft category Best Recording Package (including album cover, graphic arts and photography) courtesy of Doohee Lee, art director.

On the other hand, this year, Rogét Chahayed has been nominated for Producer of the Year (Non-Classical). Chahayed is the songwriter and producer of “Blueberry Eyes” by Max featuring Suga of BTS. The 64th Grammy Awards will be held on Jan. 31, 2022 at the Arena (formerly Staples Center) in Los Angeles. According to the academy, for the 64th Grammy Awards, recordings that became eligible were those released between Sept. 1, 2020 and Sept. 30, 2021.
